Information on Covid-19 / Coronavirus

Our main concern is to stop the spread of Covid-19 and protect the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff. We can do this by limiting face to face interaction and following the guidelines. Go to our Covid carebot to see if you require a test.

Symptoms:

It can take up to 14 days for symptoms to show. They can be similar to symptoms of cold and flu.

Common symptoms of Covid 19 include:

  • A fever (high temperature – 38 degrees Celsius or above)
  • A cough – this can be any kind of cough, not just dry
  • Shortness of breath or breathing difficulties
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Protect yourself

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub if your hands are not visibly dirty
  • Practice good respiratory hygiene, that is, when coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin and clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • Maintain physical distancing, that is, leave at least 2 metres (6 feet) distance between yourself and other people, particularly those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth – if you touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your contaminated hands, you can transfer the virus from the surface to yourself
  • Wearing of face coverings may help prevent people who do not know they have COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from spreading it to others.
